Sanatana Dharma - Way of life
Sanatana Dharma is a living tradition of inquiry, devotion and service. At Vidhya Deepam, children and adults learn its teachings through prayer, chanting, the stories of the epics and the Bhagavad Gita, and by practising values such as compassion, discipline, gratitude and respect for all.

How we teach
Our way
At Vidhya Deepam, our emphasis is teaching children Hindu culture the way it has always been passed down: through stories, sacred verses and shared celebration. The epics and the tales of the Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita come alive in age-appropriate storytelling, giving children heroes to admire and values like honesty, courage, compassion and devotion to carry into everyday life. They learn to chant slokas such as the Guru Stotram and verses from the Gita, building a connection to Sanskrit, a sense of focus and calm, and an understanding of the meaning behind the words. Art is another medium for learning: through drawing, crafts and creative projects, children express what they have learned in their own way. Learning continues beyond the classroom through themed events. Our Kids Carnival, talent shows and festival celebrations such as Holi let children take part in the traditions, music, dance, food and community spirit that make the culture feel joyful and real. Together, these experiences help children grow up confident in their heritage and proud to share it with their friends and neighbors.
Classes for every age
Each session begins together with prayers, the Guru Stotram, Gita chanting, an epic story and aarati, then everyone moves into their age group.
